9 Most Beautiful and Instagrammable Places in NYC for Inspiration 2021

NYC is filled with so many Instagrammable places that your phone will run out of storage space. I recently visited New York and I’ve compiled a list of beautiful spots to take pictures at.

1. Brooklyn Bridge

Photography Tip: If you go in the morning, the Brooklyn side will give you better lighting (so that there’s not a shadow on your face.) As such, if you go at night, the Manhattan side of the bridge will probably be better for lighting.

2. Dumbo

Location: Intersection of Water Street and Washington Street.

This location was the most difficult to shoot at. Cars are constantly driving on Washington Street so you have to be careful and step to the side a lot. When you do catch a break in between cars, there’s tons of people doing the same thing so they will all be in your picture too. I recommend going early in the morning to shoot at this location.

3. Timeout Market

5. The Edge

Tip: Book your entrance time between 5-6pm or a few hours before sunset. We went in August, so the sun was going to set around 8pm. As soon as you get there, I would get in line. Everyone in line is there to get the money shot and so everyone seemed to be patient and take longer getting their photos taken. We were in line with 6 parties in front of us. By the time it was our turn, the sun was already setting and there were even more people in line than when we started. Also, during golden hour, a lot of people cram in the corner to get a picture, that the line is rendered useless. I suggest getting there a little earlier.

6. The Vessel

Tip: When we went on August 5, 2021, the Vessel was temporarily closed, as in you can’t go up. However, you are free to take pictures outside the Vessel. The Vessel has been closed on and off because of too many suicides, unfortunately.

7. The Oculus

8. Pier 40 at Hudson River Park

9. Rooftop Whitney Museum
